After a couple of year hiatus, the Claucherty Racing team made a return trip to the big late season race at Sandusky Speedway. Being a little under-powered on the big half mile, Justin qualified mid-pack in the 13th position. At the beginning of the race the car was racy, and Justin was able to move up a few positions. As the race wore on, the handling began to go away, and Justin had to wrestle it home for a solid 9th place finish. After the race it was found that a tire issue resulted in the ill handling car.

A late idea to race at the Midvale Speedway turned out to be the right decision. Justin was able to qualify a respectable 3rd, despite never seeing the track until that day. At the beginning of the feature, Justin was shuffled back from his 6th place starting spot. At around the 1/3 mark, Justin had worked his way up into the 3rd position, but the lead duo was over a straightaway ahead. Hoping for a caution, Justin settled in and took care of the brakes and tires for quite a few laps. Once it became apparent that a caution likely wasn't coming, Justin hit the go button. Despite the large distance, Justin was able to run the leaders down. After getting by the 2nd place car of Bud Perry (last Midvale race winner), Justin began working on the leader Alex Rosenberry (winner of this event in 2015). After getting a good run off of 4 and down the front stretch, Rosenberry didn't leave Justin any room and the two made contact. Officials sent the #7 to the rear, but fortunately enough cars had been lapped that he was able to get back to the 3rd position. Despite the 4 hour tow, the team looks forward to a return visit in 2017.
